HEAT ADVISORY

July 22 @ 8:00 am - July 25 @ 5:00 pm

• Dangerous heat and humidity will build over the area today resulting in maximum heat index values up to 115 degrees. This will increase the likelihood of heat stroke with prolonged outdoor activity.

• Friday and Saturday Elevated Threat of dangerous heat expected with peak heat values in excess of 105-110 degrees throughout the state from Ripley down to the coastal counties.

• Significant Threat for dangerous heat with heat index values in excess of 110-115 degrees for areas over the western portion of the state from Southaven down through Greenwood to Yazoo City.

• Sunday headed into next week there is a significant risk for the western portion of the state from Southaven to just south of Vicksburg. Risks include highs in the upper 90s with peak heat indices of 110 – 115 degrees.

• An elevated risk of temps in the upper 90s with peak heat indices of 105 – 110 degrees will affect the western portion of the state from Ripley to the coastal counties Sunday into next week.

• Sunday continuing into next week 11am – 7pm
